UMEX and SimTEX 2024

On 23-25.01.2024, the international exhibitions UMEX and SimTEX 2024 were held at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Center (ADNEC) in the UAE.

The theme of the exhibitions: The Future of Autonomy. Human Efforts for the Digital World.

The exhibitions were held under the patronage of HH Sheikh Hazza bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Ruler of the Emirate of Abu Dhabi.

On the eve of the exhibition events, the UMEX and SimTEX Conference 2024 was held on 22.01.2024.

The exhibitions were organized by ADNEC Group in cooperation with the UAE Ministry of Defense.

The strategic partner of the exhibition events was the group of companies Edge Group PJSC.

The exhibition was attended by:

more than 31000 participants (exhibitors and visitors);

245 official delegations;

about 200 country leaders and decision makers;

35 countries, including 11 countries for the first time;

214 participating companies (34% of UAE companies (72 companies) and 66% other countries (142 companies);

more than 500 participants of UMEX and SimTEX Conference 2024;

more than 600 local and international media.

The total exhibition area was about 30,000 square meters.

The area of the UAE pavilions amounted to 5200 square meters.

The largest expositions at the exhibition were presented by:

Edge Group PJSC;

International Golden Group.

During UMEX and SimTEX 2024, the total amount of contracts signed by the Tawazun Council on behalf of the UAE Ministry of Defense amounted to at least AED 2.933 billion for 18 agreements.

In particular, the following were signed:

three contracts worth 1.437 billion UAE dirhams with Edge Group PJSC for the purchase of UAVs, technical support and training services (220 million UAE dirhams); for the purchase of anti-drone systems (708 million UAE dirhams); for the purchase of infrastructure protection systems (509 million UAE dirhams);

a contract worth 874 million UAE dirhams with the Emirati company International Golden Group for the purchase of UAVs, the provision of maintenance services and the organization of training for five years;

two contracts worth 168 million UAE dirhams with the Emirati company Star Satellite Communications Company (YAHSAT) for the provision of communications (16 million UAE dirhams); for the provision of services for the maintenance and operation of ground communication centers (152 million UAE dirhams);

a contract worth 100 million UAE dirhams with the Emirati company BAYANAT for the development of artificial intelligence programs;

a contract worth 81 million UAE dirhams with the Emirati company SATELLITE IMAGING TECHNOLOGIES for the provision of communications;

a contract worth 17 million UAE dirhams with the Emirati company Zen Technologies Limited for the support of simulators;

a contract worth 10 million UAE dirhams with the Emirati company Resource Industries for the purchase of anti-drone weapons;

a contract worth 8 million UAE dirhams with the Emirati company Gulf United Integrated Multitech Solution for the purchase of robots;

a contract worth 2 million UAE dirhams with the Emirati company Star Ling Spatial Communications for communication services; 

a contract worth 639,000 UAE dirhams with the National Center of Meteorology;

a contract worth 110 million UAE dirhams with the French company EXAIL ROBOTICS SAS for the purchase of underwater hydroacoustic systems;

a contract worth 51 million UAE dirhams with the US company HAWKEYE 360 for the provision of communications;

a contract worth 49 million UAE dirhams with Canadian Aviation Electronics for the provision of simulator support services for the training center;

a contract worth 23 million UAE dirhams with the Chinese company CETC INTERNATIONAL CO., LTD (CATIC) for the purchase of anti-drone systems; 

a contract worth 2 million UAE dirhams with the US company Digital Globe for the provision of antenna maintenance services.

Taking into account the directions of technological development in the world, it is already possible to note that UMEX and SimTEX unmanned systems exhibitions will become more and more large-scale each time.
